Best Student Discounts for Boutique Gyms in London (2025)
I came to London over 10 years ago and have only left for brief stints. I did my undergraduate, Master’s, and now my PhD here, so I know the student lifestyle—and more importantly, where to get the best deals. For years, I assumed boutique gyms were out of reach with my limited finances, but I’m here to tell you that’s not true. Many boutique fitness studios in London offer student discounts—especially if you can go during off-peak hours, which for many students is totally doable. If you’re looking explicitly for Reformer, this will be helpful too!
Here’s my ranking!
1) Best Boutique Gym for All-Around Value: Gymbox
Unlike many of the other studios on this list, Gymbox offers unlimited classes, full gym access, and a sauna. You can choose to sign up for a single studio or splurge on an all-access pass—which I recommend, as some locations offer different classes (they recently announced Reformer Pilates at Finsbury Park!). Most studios at Gymbox offer aerial, spin, fighting, yoga, strength and mat pilates classes at a bare minimum, so there’s plenty of variety.
Gymbox frequently runs special offers, like free extra months or no joining fees, so I’d suggest waiting for a good deal. Right now, students can sign up for Gymbox Finsbury Park at £50/month for 12 months or £72/month for all-location access—an incredible deal considering it includes Reformer classes!
For non-students, all-access costs around £110/month, and single-gym memberships vary (Finsbury Park is currently £66.50/month).
2) Most Affordable Studio Membership: Frame
Unlike Gymbox, Frame is class-based only, but they offer student-specific membership prices that are genuinely affordable. For just £112/month, students get unlimited boutique fitness classes, including Reformer Pilates and workshops. If Reformer isn’t your thing, the standard package is only £64/month.
The only caveat? Student memberships are off-peak only—meaning you can go to classes between 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM on weekdays and after 12:30 PM on weekends.
I really enjoy Frame, and I recently tried their Rebounding class (which was surprisingly intense!). They also offer barre, mat pilates, reformer pilates (on the gold membership), yoga and strength. Sadly they did recently shut their boxing classes, which is a shame.
If you’re into boutique classes but need to keep costs low, this is an excellent option.
3) Best for Premium Classes: Psycle
Psycle is one of the most expensive boutique studios in London, with unlimited classes priced at a whopping £380/month—and that’s without a gym, pool, or sauna. But their student & graduate discounts make it a bit more accessible.
Using Student Beans, you can get:
Single classes for £15
5-class packs for £13 per class
Graduate 10-packs for £12.50 per class (which students may also be able to purchase!)
Unlike Frame, Psycle’s discounted class packs have more flexible hours—you can book classes at 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and 7:30 PM Monday-Thursday, plus all day Friday-Sunday. If you need peak-hour access, Psycle might be the better choice.
That said, Psycle has some of the best classes in London - Darius is hands-down the best spin instructor I’ve ever had in London, and Chinelo’s Reformer Pilates class is fantastic (despite cramming in a lot of machines!). They also offer strength, yoga and barre.
Final Thoughts: Which Boutique Gym Discount Is Best?
If you’re looking for a full gym + unlimited classes, Gymbox is unbeatable for the price, particularly the new Finsbury Park studio with Reformer Pilates. If you only want boutique classes or Reformer Pilates, Frame offers the best value. And if you want premium classes with flexible times, Psycle’s student rates are worth considering. An honourable mention also goes to Digme, where you can get 35% off class packs as a Student, but they only offer Spin.
London’s boutique fitness scene is more accessible than you think—especially if you know where to look. Have you tried any of these student gym discounts? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
