Another One Bites the Dust: United Fitness Chelsea Is the Latest Studio Closure

Yet another boutique fitness studio has fallen victim to London’s ever-rising rents. United Fitness has just announced that its flagship Chelsea studio on King’s Road will close its doors for good on April 30th.

This news follows a wave of recent closures across the capital, including United Fitness’ own Kobox Marylebone, Barrecore Islington, and Reformcore Mayfair - raising serious concerns about the future of some of London’s best-loved fitness brands.

In an email sent to members today, United Fitness confirmed the Chelsea closure and stated they are actively searching for new locations. While Barrecore and Reformcore fans may have nearby alternatives, the potential loss of Kobox entirely would be a huge blow to the London fitness scene - leaving members scrambling for alternative boxing workouts.

Current members are being offered the choice to:

  • Upgrade to an all-access membership (at no extra cost),

  • Move their home studio, or

  • Request a refund.

But for many, this will come as yet another letdown - and for those who stay, trust in the brand may be hard to rebuild.
